Headache Locations

Headache is one of the most common complaints in the society and the rate of people with recurrent headache reaches 70%. Although it adversely affects the quality of life, it is generally not life-threatening. However, headache locations:

  • If he suddenly appeared and was the most severe of the headaches he’s ever had,
  • If it doesn’t go away and the violence increases,
  • If it causes double or blurred vision,
  • If there are nausea and vomiting,
  • If he showed up after 50,
  • If it has occurred after a stroke or accident,
  • If the neck manifests itself as stiffness or fever, consult a physician.

CAUSES OF HEADACHE

Headache may occur (primary) without a structural disorder in the brain or may develop (secondary) due to other diseases affecting the brain and body.

Primary headaches
1. Migraine
2. Tension-type headache
3. Cluster headache
4. Other primary headaches

Secondary headaches,
1. Due to a head and/or neck trauma
2. Due to vascular diseases of the head and/or neck
3. Intracranial, due to extra venous causes
4. Dependent on substance or substance deprivation
5. Due to microbial diseases
6. Due to disorders in blood biochemistry
7. Depending on eye, ear, nose, sinus, teeth, mouth problems
8. Psychiatric disorders

FREQUENT HEADS

TENSION TYPE HEADACHE:

  • It is due to the contraction of the muscles surrounding the head and often the pain is felt throughout the head.
  • Ache; weight, pressure feeling, compression style.
  • It can last for 5-10 minutes or for days without interruption.
  • They do not disturb nausea, vomiting, light, and sound very often.
  • The pain can often begin in the afternoon and fall asleep later in the day.
  • Various factors can cause a tension-type headache. Psychological stress, anxiety, depression, muscle strain (such as driving for a long time, working in a bad sitting position, etc.), and overdosing to relieve headaches are some of them.

MIGRAINE

Migraine is one of the most common neurological diseases. In people between the ages group of 15-55 migraine prevalence in Turkey are 21.8% and 10.9% in males. Generally, many migraine patients have another migraine family in their families. Characteristics of migraine headache: Comes in episodes (no headache between attacks), lasts 4-72 hours if left untreated, is often unilateral, has a throbbing character and is severe, may be accompanied by nausea and / or vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound, physical pain can be exacerbated by activity, and there may be visual symptoms such as “flashing lights, zig-zag lines önce before the pain begins.
Factors that trigger migraine: some foods and beverages (old cheese, snacks, chocolate, yogurt, onions, figs, liver, caffeinated foods and drinks, smoked or pickled fish / meat, wine), lifestyle changes (too much or little sleep) , hunger, physical or mental fatigue, shift work), menstrual period, weather / season / pressure changes, flickering / bright / fluorescent lights, bright daylight, fragrances (perfumes, chemicals, cigarettes), stress.

CLUSTER HEADACHE

It is more common in males, around the eye, throbbing, severe, lasting minutes but repeated repeatedly between 15 minutes to 3 hours during the day, that side of the eye redness, vomiting, that pupil shrinkage and low eyelid, nasal congestion and pain that cause flow. Pain clusters of this nature persist for 4-8 weeks at certain times of the year. The characteristics of headache are the most important data in determining the cause of pain and choosing treatment. Therefore, patients should be able to describe the character and frequency of headaches and the accompanying symptoms well.

HEADACHE DUE TO INJURY
IN-HEAD TUMOR AVAILABILITY:
In the presence of severe and pre-existing headaches, the patient should be evaluated for a tumor.
Intracranial injuries may cause acute and chronic headaches after trauma.
Viral and bacterial infections may also cause headaches.
Due to poisoning (alcohol, carbon monoxide, lead poisoning).

Treatment: Painkillers and muscle relaxants.

HEADACHE DUE TO EYE, EAR, NOSE, THROAT, AND NECK SPINE DISEASES
HEADACHE DUE TO HIGH TENSION.
HEADACHE DUE TO SUBSTANCE AND DRUG USE:
It may cause headaches (alcohol intake, long-term use of ergotamine and pain medication, and cessation of alcohol, ergotamine, caffeine, and narcotic drugs).

Headache may occur after coughing and sneezing, after heavy lifting and due to sudden bending and straightening. a headache that can last from a few seconds to several minutes. It is more common in men.

POSTERIOR FOSSA TUMOR:
A headache during coughing and after lifting a heavy object should suggest a posterior fossa tumor.
